African Butterfly Cichlid
Anomalochromis thomasi
About me: Hello, I am an african butterfly cichlid. I attract attention because of my beautiful colors, as well as my usually eye-catching pattern. In order to show off my vibrant colors well, the light should preferably come from the side. Generally, however, it should be preferably dark, as I am used to this from my home country!
You should ideally keep me as a cute little pair - one male and one female. We cichlids can be very territorial and therefore you should never keep two males in one aquarium. One of us might die in a fight. With the female I behave calmly and the worst thing that can happen to you is offspring.
By the way, you should not keep me in your aquarium along with snails, because I like to eat even somewhat larger specimens. The plants and aquarium equipment I usually treat with care, but you should probably keep an eye on me.
